Presenting My $1,000 Video Contest Entry
Posted by AlanAug 18
Well… it took a loooooong time and definitely shows that I am NOT a video expert, but my video is finally finished.
If I had a few more days I would polish it a bit more… but the deadline is fast approaching and I have to start work on Science of the Sale videos… so this is going to have to do.
So without any further ado… here is my video entry! I hope you enjoy it half as much as I enjoy making it!
Please leave a comment to tell me what you think of my masterpiece. And then you should go over to Alex Jeffreys’ blog and tell him how much you liked my video as well… that may help me win!
Until next time…

Good stuff there Alan.
Thanks for brightening my day, that was fun to watch.
Good luck in the competition bro.
Paul.
Oh my, that was great Alan. I love where the “busy fool” cut in. I totally laughed. Then when the music changed. Great video. Definitely fun to watch.
Good luck in the contest!
Thanks, Heidi
Thanks Paul!
I’m glad you enjoyed it. It was certainly fun to make… even though there is room for improvement, I’m reasonably proud of it!
Talk to you soon!
Peace,
Alan
Thanks Heidi!
I truly appreciate the kind words! I tried to showcase Alex’s silliness as well as his intelligence… gald that it worked out!
I hope I win… the money would REALLY help right now!
Talk soon!
Peace,
Alan
Hi Alan
Loved the video – it made me laugh. Well edited.
I am still trying to work out how to get started on making a video – I have no clue at the moment!!!
Good luck
Barbara
Hey Barbara! Thanks a lot! I’m glad you enjoyed it. I spent so much time on some of editing that I missed a few other things until it was basically too late to go back. And now I have bigger fish to fry anyway!
I’d be more than happy to help you with learning video if you’d like. Let me know how I can help!
Talk to you soon!
Peace,
Alan
Good Grief Alan ! When I saw the stills in your “teaser” post, I knew it would be good but this is totally awesome ! I hadn’t really decided on entering the video contest until almost the day before the original deadline when I suddenly got an idea. Then Alex extended the deadline, so I now have more time to figure it out.
But after seeing this, I’m not sure if it’s worth me entering at all now !
Seriously, a great job my friend !
All the best,
Roger
Hey Rog!! Thanks for that high praise! I told ya I need the money so I had to go all out! I’m hoping that, win or lose, I can parlay this video into traffic using Traffic Geyser… maybe the vid will pay me more than the grand after all! That’s why I designed it toward a wider IM audience.
Let me know if you want any video tips or pointers… I’ll do what I can! But you NEED to do some vids!
Talk soon!
Peace,
Alan
Hey Alan
What an unique video, WOW! You put in a lot of time and effort into 9 minutes. When would NOW be a good time to write an e-book on doing videos and share your knowledge with others?
I just finished my video yesterday(Sunday) from our IMAC and SHARED it into YouTube. YouTube emailed me and said it could take up to 48 hours before they would publish my video: soooo, how long did it take to get your video published? How do you capture your video from YouTube and place it into your blog?
Keep on with your great work and I will be waiting to see your next masterpiece.
Drop by my blog and say HI.
Roger
Go out and make it a successful day!
Hey Roger! I really appreciate the kind words! I DID put a lot of time into this… but it was a BLAST! I am actually seriously considering a few videos to show folks how easy it can be to do video!
I’m surprised about the 48 hour thing… most of mine publish within a few minutes, after YT is finished processing. I wonder if it’s a Mac thing. I’ll look into it.
On the video page, to the right, will be an embed code… select everything between and including the and tags and then paste it into the editor (USING the HTML tab) when you are writing your post.
I’ll stop by your blog and check to see if you were able to make that work… if not I’ll do a quick video to show the process.
Talk soon!
Peace,
Alan
